Who We Are
Robert & Marta
O joy! that in our embers
Is something that doth live,
That Nature yet remembers
What was so fugitive!
–William Wordsworth
Robert fell in love with Romantic poetry at a very early age and his background is deeply rooted in the poetry of Willliam Wordsworth and the English romantic tradition. For many years he was a university lecturer in the Romantics and wove their teachings into his life. He also has a background in theatre arts and performance, both as a university lecturer and as a performer and director. His belief in the transformative power of the natural world has its origins in romantic poetry, and his engagement with groups and group dynamics is fundamentally linked to his work in theatre. He is a passionate hillwalker and is never more at home than when he is exploring wild places.
Robert of Celtic Tantra
Marta of Celtic Tantra
Marta is a poet and playwright, with a background in dance, movement, and bodywork. She was a Creative Writing teacher for many years, and has also been involved in theatre, both as a writer and a performer. She has a fervent belief in the power of words and the human imagination, and how we can use this power to experience our energy flow and come into greater connection with each other. She is presently at work on a young adult novel set on Dartmoor, exploring our relationship to our wild natures, class and land rights.
Both Robert and Marta trained with John Hawken, the founder of SkyDancing Tantra UK, and were his assistants for over 10 years. They trained with Deborah Taj Anapol in Pelvic Heart Integration and assisted her in teaching. Robert also trained in Dramatherapy at Worcester University. They have been teaching their own blend of Tantra, meditation, bodywork, movement, and imaginative journeying for over 20 years. They have been together for 40 years and have three children and three grandchildren. They live in an old house on Dartmoor, with their border collie and the company of the hills and trees, standing stones and ancient sites.
